Installing the calibre that is in the main repo using apt automatically pulls in all the dependencies with one simple command ("sudo apt install Calibre", assuming you have the mainline Debian repo listed first). Download calibre Portable Version: 6.5. To launch calibre, double click the 'calibre-portable.exe' program inside the Calibre Portable folder. Apt does this way better than a humin and dpkg. To use, just run the portable installer and select the location where you would like the Calibre Portable folder. To resolve the dependencies you need to bottom out the list and then install them in reverse order. I took a stab at it but it is a pita and just grabbing the Calibre that is built and in the main Debian repo is a much simpler solution, that just works. It should be possible to hunt down packages and manually resolve the dependencies. Package managers will check and resolve dependencies when possible, but they cannot deal with the issue when two different packages have mutually incompatible dependencies.
